Ayla Oasis Development Company (AODC) AODC was established in June 2003 to undertake the development of Ayla. The main objective of AODC is to create a world-class destination that embraces tourism, by creating recreational and residential communities around a series of manmade lagoons in Aqaba. It aims to create a prominent resort community that is sustainable and unique, with developments that are appropriately balanced to melt into a compelling bigger picture. Ayla is part of a series of developments on the strategic master plan of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), which will transform Aqaba from a port of commerce into a true sustainable waterfront community which combines opportunities for quality living, entertainment, and a robust business environment. Ayla - The project The Ayla Project is located in Aqaba-Jordan; approximately 330 km south from the capital city of Amman. Strategically positioned at the juncture of the old world and the new, in a town globally renowned for being Jordan's single seaport; Ayla delivers a pioneering blend of cutting edge commercial spaces and upscale residences that promise to collectively catapult the port of Aqaba from the access point it is today, into a world class destination of trade and tourism. Spanning over 432 hectares (4,320,000 m2) and boasting 235 meters of sea front on the Gulf of Aqaba, Ayla is a unique waterfront mixed-use development. The development is anticipated to dramatically transform the city of Aqaba by creating approximately 17 kilometers of new seafront from a 235-meter seafront strip on the Gulf of Aqaba. Once completed, Ayla will feature a range of facilities and amenities, including a variety of up-market hotels, unique residential communities, a golf course and a town center encompassing a marina and retail units. One of Ayla’s key USPs is the integration of art, culture and entertainment into the overall master plan. This will be in the form of permanent interactive structures, unique flagship events, seasonal activities and a series of bespoke initiatives that reflect Ayla’s brand. Not only will we be creating original concepts, we will be setting the new benchmark for community engagement and entrainment in the region. We are already working with world class consultants in developing an extensive program that will bring Ayla’s vision to life.
